
Sur le marché très mûr des smartphones, Samsung joue le tout sur le tout pour tenter de réveiller l’intérêt du grand public, qui se satisfait parfois de modèles beaucoup plus basiques que ses derniers fleurons. En dévoilant le Galaxy Fold, son premier modèle à écran pliable et un Galaxy S10 pouvant afficher 1 To de stockage pour 12 Go de mémoire vive, Samsung joue la carte de la surenchère.
Comme l’illustrent les spécifications reproduites ci-dessous, on se demande encore si l’on lit les spécifications d’un smartphone ou d’un ordinateur portable, ce qui ne va pas sans poser quelques questions. En effet, plus certaines composantes sont puissantes, plus le prix global prend l’ascenseur. Se pose donc la question de l’utilité…
Tant de mémoire, pourquoi?
En effet, à quoi bon 1 To de stockage alors que de plus en plus souvent tout se passe désormais dans le nuage: ses films, sa musique: on steame tout. Quant à ses photos, on est régulièrement invité à libérer de l’espace sur son smartphone en ne les laissant que sur Google Photo, par exemple. Alors, à quoi bon 1 To de stockage…
Passons à la mémoire vive. Un système mobile se doit d’être optimisé, raison pour laquelle Android peut fonctionner avec 1 Go de mémoire au besoin… Par ailleurs, tous mes derniers tests ont montré que des modèles équipés de 4 Go, 6 Go, voire davantage ne font pas mieux que des appareils n’en possédant que trois… Alors 12 Go…
Un écran pliable à suivre de près!
Reste la question de l’écran. Si la tendance est effectivement de bénéficier d’écran toujours plus grand, on ne souhaite pas forcément transporter une ardoise. Et là, Samsung introduit une innovation conceptuellement intéressante, mais qui devra faire ses preuves, car les plus grands smartphones donnent entièrement satisfaction. Et quid de l’encombrement?
Bref. Ces différentes innovations technologiques, comme la future 5G qui pointe le bout de sons nez sont évidemment à suivre de près. Reste que cette surenchère technologique donne une impression étrange. On a le sentiment que l’innovation dans le monde de la mobilité montre ses limites. Ne saurait-on plus quoi inventer de sensé? Et à quel prix?
